Old Business
-Ridge Road issues
continue to be TABLED, until we get more information from the lady
from Equalization. There is only one person that receives mail,
other are camps. Concerned that if there is no sign, that the Fire
Department or Law Enforcement won’t be able to find it. Keith had
met with the ladies from Equalization and apparently the issues are
getting worked on. One sign that says Ridge Road and another that
says private drive are ready to be put up.
New Business
-Allen Barr
working on getting better internet service for the area. Has been
working on it for the last three years, but has always been told
that it would be too expensive. Finally have found a company, Marq 6
Broadband, which has said yes to the project. It is currently being
tested on the tower in Cooks. Planning on covering all of
Schoolcraft and Delta counties. Other engineering elements are still
being worked on at the moment. They will have a few different
services that will be offered. Cost will be $60 for standard
service, $80 for extra user service, and $20 extra for phone
service. No contract and free installation. There will be a building
in town where you can go in to discuss the service. Ready for
purchase and installation now. For more information visit their
website
www.marq6.com
-The old
Save-A-Lot has been purchased for Good Neighbors, adding a soup
kitchen and a bigger food pantry.
-Ad was put in the
paper for snow plowing bids and DesJarden’s was the only one we
received. Plow for $25 at the Fire Hall per occurrence and $60 at
the Township Hall. Prices include shoveling sidewalks. Kelly will be
contacting Jason to push snow further back so we don’t lose parking
space. Plowing at the hall will be done as needed, but will be done
before board meeting every month. Plowing will be done regularly at
the Fire Hall to insure easy access for fire equipment.
-Board of Review
Training will be held in Harris on February 21, 2018. Asking to
approve for January meeting when we get prices. Want to send in
early to get cheaper price. Motion B. Elliot Support C. Watchorn AIF

-Furnace in Fire
Hall has quit working. Asked Hoholik’s and Paul’s Plumbing for bids
on a new furnace. Hoholik’s bid was $2,800 for new furnace, labor,
and to remove old furnace. Paul’s was $3,000 for same items. When
call was made to Hoholik’s no one was available to go out there, but
Paul’s Plumbing sent someone out immediately. Due to Paul’s
outstanding customer service and immediate help when the furnace
quit, board has decided to go with Paul’s despite the $200
difference. Motion B. Elliot Support B. Landis AIF M/C
FD/EMS
-Fire Department
asking for $200 towards Annual Fire Department Potluck on January
20, 2018. Motion C. Watchorn Support B. Landis AIF M/C

whether the furnace is on or not.
