Meeting was called to order at 7 P.M. by Kelly Silkworth Supervisor.
Board members present: Cindy Watchorn, Kelly Silkworth, Bryan
Landis, Sara Roberts, and Bonnie Elliot
Accepted previous meeting minutes as presented by clerk. Motion B.

Accepted the financial report as presented by treasurer. Motion S.

Old Business
New budget for 2017/2018 fiscal year was presented. Motion C.
Watchorn Support S. Roberts AIF M/C
New Business
-Al Grimm from the local Moose Lodge spoke about honoring “Local
Heroes” by offering a free one year membership for the Lodge. Local
Heroes include firemen, policemen, EMT, first response, military,
and others of that nature. Applications available. The Moose is
great for gatherings and is for members only. Some of the money made
by the Moose is donated to places such as a Chicago school for
neglected children. To become a new member, costs for men are $65
for men and $45 for women.
-BOR wage increase was discussed. Surrounding townships were
compared to Inwood, and was decided to increase BOR wages from
$10/hour to $13/per hour and also have one dinner provided for the
one evening meeting in March. Was also mentioned that BOR is in need
of alternates. Motion C. Watchorn Support B. Landis AIF M/C
-At the last meeting it was mentioned that the F.D. in upcoming
years will be in need of a new fire truck. Board is proposing that
the township will put money away towards a new truck as long as the
F.D. contributes as well. $10,000 was put into an account already.
Money that is left over at the end of each year in that account will
be carried over into the following year. Amounts to be contributed
each year will be discussed in upcoming meetings – TABLED
-A $200.00 donation will be made out to Becky Dennis to help with
expenses for the Annual Big Bay de Noc Easter Egg Hunt. Motion C.
Watchorn Support B. Landis AIF M/C
-Letter from TriCounty was received. A $2,000 donation will be made
out to their department for helping cover areas for Inwood. Their
fundraiser will be held July 15th, 2017. All invited Motion B.
Landis Support C. Watchorn AIF M/C
-Spring Cleanup proposed at 600lbs at $.0825/lb. Approximately
$2,000 was spent last year towards the cleanup. Will be held the
first full week in June.
-T-ball and Baseball signup was held. Only eight kids signed up. Due
to lack of players, the children will have to play for Manistique.
Recreation fund to donate $420 towards shirts for the kids to play.
Motion S. Roberts Support C. Watchorn AIF M/C
-DesJarden’s wants approval to start salvaging the old hall to
prepare for upcoming demolition. Whatever is taken out of the hall
will be deducted off of demolition price. Wants to start
immediately. F.D. may be interested in stoves and refrigerators –
Board granted a two week time frame for items to be removed.
FD/EMS
-F.D. – nothing Loren Swayer absent
-EMS – CPR Training to be held 3/20/17. Plans on advertising for two
weeks. Pipeline training to be held 3/22/17. Will be open to other
townships. Yearly inspection was done. A lot of updates needed on
outdates items. Outdated supplies are used in training.
-EMS funds come out of F.D. budget.
-Anything over $200 in costs needs to be approved by the Board
before purchasing.
-Garage door opener ordered through Menards.
Correspondence
Open skate list was fixed and updated. $212 balance.
Public Comment
-Public member mentioned talking to Doyle Township about closed down
F.D. for possible salvageable items.
Payment of Outstanding Bills
Payments made in the amount of $8,304.68 and deposits in the amount
of $62,789.48. Motion S. Roberts Support C. Watchorn AIF M/C
Motion to adjourn the meeting at 7:55 p.m. was made by B. Landis

Others present for the regular meeting at the Inwood
Township hall were: Keith Rochefort, Mary Rochefort, Don Rochefort,
Dorothy Rochefort, Al Grim, Pat Carley, Jan Carley, Shirley Demars,
Pete Crotteau, Cindy Swayer, Claire Marr, and Russ Marr.
