Inwood Township Meeting Minutes

Pledge of allegiance was said

Meeting was called to order at 7 P.M. by Kelly Silkworth Supervisor.

Board members present:  Cindy Watchorn, Kelly Silkworth, Bryan Landis, Bonnie Elliot and Sara Roberts

Accepted previous meeting minutes as presented by Clerk. Motion S. Roberts Support B. Landis AIF M/C.

Accepted the financial report as presented by treasurer. Motion B. Landis Support S, Roberts

Old Business

-Ridge Road Update – Original sign has been taken down. Suppose to have homemade sign made with Ridge Road sign underneath.

 

New Business

-Dick Rosen – Lives on Straits Lake Road and could not get insurance or mortgage because he is over Federal Land. Forest Service sent contract to give 20 year agreement. He had spoken with Alger County, but they did not want to get involved – wants Schoolcraft County Road Commission to take over Corner and Straits Lake Road. Road Commission wants to help anyway they can. If they were to take over those roads they would want the road up to their specs. Road Commission will find out more at the next Road Commission meeting.

 

-Jean Anderson sent in bid on mowing. Only increase from the previous season is for the hall which is $25 more due to more area to mow. Costs are $50 for Old Cemetery, $50 for Ball Field/Playground, $100 for new hall, $225 for Cemetery, and $20 for Old Hall per request. Motion B. Landis Support B. Elliott M/C

 

-Spring Cleanup Date Change. Dates will now be June 4th-June 9th. TVs and mattresses will be charged to the Township, but TVs can be dropped off at the Habitat Restore for now charge. Motion B. Elliott Support C. Watchorn M/C

 

FD/EMS

-Assisted on snowmobile accident. Had a carbon monoxide call and gas leak.

-Inspections were done on all trucks and the small tanker did not pass.

-Signed agreement with Hiawatha for mutual aide. 1st day no cost, then $210 per hour for the tanker after the 1st day. Will be a five year agreement.

 

-EMS – Cindy wants to step down from AccuMed Billing. Feels that she is doing more and she should get a raise or step down from AccuMed. If new person takes over the billing they will have to get Image Trend for a computer. Kelly Silkworth suggested taking over the run sheet and AccuMed billing. Motion for Kelly to take over until job description is done C. Watchorn Support B. Landis M/C

-Board wants Cindy to write up an EMS President job description for next meeting.

 

Correspondence

 

Public Comment

-Road Commission wants to turn to liquid chloride instead of flake. Wants to get the Townships relationship back if they go to liquid.

 

Payment of Outstanding Bills

Payments made in the amount of $12,518.02 and deposits in the amount of $385.27.

Motion to adjourn the meeting at 7:53pm was made by C. Watchorn support B. Landis AIF M/C

 

Others present for the regular meeting at the Inwood Township hall were: Pat/Jan Carley, Keith/Mary Rochefort, Don/Dorothy Rochefort, Loren/Cindy Swayer, Pete Crotteau, Jean Frankovich, Dick Rosen, John Osterhout, Terry/Sandy Brooks.
